I have a big azz oak in my front yard. The missus is scared it'll get blown


over onto the house. I try to mansplain that its roots are deep and strong and conditions have to be just so in order for it to get blown over.

Hurricane Gloria in 1986 blew over a bunch of big trees in Bay Colony, but it had rained two solid weeks before the hurricane. The ground was super saturated and that's the only reason so many of those trees blew over.
